Clinical RotationsRotation ScheduleAt any one time, there will be 2 residents on a research rotation, 1 resident at Children's, 4 residents at Longwood Adult, and 9 residents at MEEI.
Head and Neck Surgical OncologyResidents at PGY -2, -3, -4 and -5 rotate through this Service at the MEEI. Additional head and neck surgical training is provided at the affiliated hospitals. Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery /LaryngologyResidents at PGY -2 and -5 rotate on the Facial Plastic subspecialty service at the MEEI. In addition, the PGY-5 spends time on the Laryngology Service. Additional training is provided at the affiliated hospitals. Pediatric OtolaryngologyAt PGY-2, residents rotate through the Pediatric Otolaryngology Service at the MEEI, which includes responsibilities at the Intensive Care Unit at MGH. PGY-3 residents rotate through the otolaryngology service at Children's Hospital, which includes exposure to airway problems, congenital disorders and a broad range of pediatric problems. Emergency ServiceResidents at PGY-2 rotate through the specialty emergency room at MEEI where there are over 12,000 otolaryngology visits annually. In addition, there are emergency responsibilities at all of the affiliated hospitals. PathologyUnder the supervision of Dr. Ben Pilch, residents are involved in surgical sign-out on head and neck specimens. In addition, time is allowed for rotation through the Radiology Department. | ![]() |
